Type: Ideally suited for mid ground
Origins: Central, western to north western Sri Lanka.
Ecology: Grows in banks of streams and rivers. Found in rice paddies both in shaded as well as sunny conditions. Under intense sunlight the plants developed conspicuously bullate leaves (C kasselmann)
Growth: Fast, once established, requires frequent trimming
Height: approx. 10 -30 cm

Cryptocoryne wendtii and it?s many variants are one of the most common species Cryptocoryne family found in aquarium hobby. It?s very easy to grow and is an ideal choice for beginers and can be grown without CO2 injection as well. But definitely it does best with some added CO2.
Aquascaping tip
Whenever one needs a deep green bush in a shaded location like at the base of a driftwood go for this species. As it is equally comfortable of growing under strong light it can be used practically in any midground position maybe even in a large Iwagumi layout!!
